Tropical Storm Isaias

The National Weather Service has placed Southold Town, and the whole tri-state area, in a Tropical Storm Warning with the approach of Tropical Storm Isaias. We will be expecting 45-55 mph winds with gusts to 70 mph and rainfall in the amount of 1-2". There is a possibility of widespread downed trees and tree limbs and scattered power outages as this storm makes its way through our area early this afternoon over a 3-6 hour timeframe. The Southold Town Emergency Management team will monitor this storm by opening the Emergency Operations Center and prepare for any need for our Town Shelters to open or other special needs our community.
