The Southold Town Recreation Department offers year-round activities, programs, special events, concerts, bus trips, educational courses, sports, etc. for residents of all ages. The department strives to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all residents of Southold by providing active recreation and leisure opportunities through organized programs and by acquiring, developing, maintaining, preserving, and enhancing recreation areas and facilities in the most cost-efficient manner.
Our staff constantly pursues excellence and dedication in providing the best possible services within resource and budgetary limits. Quarterly brochures are published throughout the year listing all activities and programs that are being offered.

Lifeguard Certification Class
The Town of Southold is offering two American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Classes as well as recertification courses this year. The courses provides entry level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illness until EMS personnel take over.
NOTE: There appears to be a payment issue with online registrations when using the Safari Browser on Apple based devices. With this in mind you might not be able to actually complete registration. We are working to correct the issue as soon as possible.
The Recreation Department's registration portal has been live since November 2018 and has been a huge success. A new household user account is required to use the portal, old users accounts can not be transfered. The good news is that the household user account set-up is easy.
