Plan ahead for pet sheltering during an emergency.
Ask friends, relatives or others outside the area if they could shelter your pets.
If you plan to go to a shelter make sure it allows pets. Familiarize yourself with the shelters rules regarding pets.
Have a pet carrier for each one of your pets.
Make sure you have enough food, water and pet supplies for at least 3 days.
Make sure all of your pets are wearing identification such as collars or ID tags.
