Piping Plover Conservation

North Fork Audubon is working to protect our endangered and threatened birds here on the north fork of Long Island. The piping plover is an endangered shorebird that lays its eggs and raises its chicks directly on our beaches from May through August. Piping plovers face many threats, including human disturbance, habitat loss, and predation. Please visit North Fork Audubon’s website at www.northforkaudubon.org to view our PSA video about piping plovers, and to learn more about what you can do to reduce these threats that harm these endangered birds.
