The OEMPD annual meeting and election will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Poquatuck Hall, Village and Skipper’s Lanes, Orient, NY, between 5.30PM and 9.00PM.
The annual meeting will begin at 5.30PM. Voting will take place between 6.00PM and 9.00PM. All business deemed legally necessary will be conducted at the meeting.
At the election two commissioners will be elected, one for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2019, and ending December 31, 2021, and the other for a one-year term beginning January 1, 2019, and ending December 31, 2019. The individual receiving the highest number of votes will be elected for the three-year term, and the individual receiving the second-highest number of votes will be elected for the one-year term. Voting will be at large.
Petitions nominating candidates for the office of commissioner must be filed with the Secretary, OEMPD, P.O. Box 566, East Marion, NY 11939, no later than 5.00PM on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Nominating petitions must be subscribed by not less than 25 qualified voters of the district.
