Mission


The Town of Southold Information Technology Department serves the technology needs for all of Southold’s municipal offices. The department is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting all of the town’s hardware, software, networks, and telecommunication systems.

Our goals are driven by and support the requirements of the town’s population as well as each of the elected officials, appointed officials, individual departments, and employees within the town government.

Role in Government


Using technology we strive to minimize the organizational overhead and maximize resources devoted to the direct improvement of our public service. We are continually doing routine evaluations and reviewing opportunities for information to be shared by the town and other organizations. This enables us to try and minimize the cost of data collection and the maintenance of our information systems.

All in all, our goal is to maximize accuracy and improve public service through the use of technology in the face of ever changing requirements, increased demands, and increasing costs.
